SVA ‘Killer Work’ advertising class feedback Fall 2012

Here’s some feedback from this fall’s indefatigable Killer Work SVA group. They’ve generously agreed to include contact information if you’d like to ask them questions. And you can always reach me at simon@adiocracy.com.

Join us for the Winter/Spring semester and let’s do some Killer Work!

Cheers!

Mark’s thoughtful critique will encourage you to just go for it – to try multiple approaches, to find insights that will spawn inspiring ideas.

He pushed me to let go of the predictability crutch and insecurity and let myself flow with all types of thoughts and connections. He showed me how to open my mind, how get to know my thought process and how to exercise it.

The central elements I’ve taken from Killer Work are less about the actual end piece itself, but rather how to get there: How to capture a moment that is truly believable and resonates so perfectly? How to capture a moment that provokes a person’s imagination? How not to create a problem, that’s not REALLY a problem
. How to focus on the human emotion.

You’ll learn from Mark, your classmates… and, truly, yourself.

Mark’s course is a quick plunge into the amniotic ocean, the Dirac Sea, the primordial gumbo of creativity we’re all born with. Rejuvenation for all levels. Jump in, the water’s hot.

Killer work is a great way to test concepts out, get feedback, and shape your own creative process. The class is less about completing a portfolio and more about identifying the tools to create great work. It’s a great opportunity to share your ideas, reflect on their origins, and hear about other people’s thought process.

Killer work gets you thinking first, about the creative process before thinking about the end-product. You’ll get some great experience in this class, plus some cool ideas to run with!

Mark,

Thank you again for a constructive and entertaining class.

Killer Work forced me to rethink my overall approach to developing ideas. I learned how to hone in on the kernels of truth and the unique human value of a product quicker and with more confidence.

I believe that those of us who were able to navigate the holiday schedule and terrible storms gained a great deal this semester.
